Scott Frankham
Dai Sempai Scott is the owner and Tan Kyu Shin Karate teacher for Raptor MMA, he has a 2nd degree black belt in TKS, Judo Orange, Goju Ryu Green, American Kenpo orange, Shotokan Red and Zanshin Kai Yellow belts. Beyond this he has a background in kickboxing, boxing, BJJ, ninjitsu, and Krav-Maga, some of which were short forays and some of which he has years of experience. Scott has competed in Club kickboxing, Judo and AKF karate tournaments and has been teaching Karate for 4 years. To add to this he is a physiotherapist and personal trainer with over a decade of experience.

Dylan Opitz
Coach Dylan Opitz is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt with nearly 15 years of teaching and coaching experience. His approach blends BJJ, Wrestling, Judo, and innovative techniques he has developed throughout his career.
As a former competitor in both BJJ and MMA, Dylan achieved an exceptional win rate—finishing the vast majority of his victories by submission. His coaching record is equally impressive, having cornered close to 100 MMA bouts and guided students through countless BJJ matches. Many of his athletes have gone on to become champions in both sports.
Dylan brings a wealth of technical knowledge, competitive insight, and a proven coaching pedigree to every class he leads.

Sean Hesketh
Sean has been around judo since the age of five and currently holds the rank of shodan under South Australia’s only Olympian, Steve Brown. He is a veteran of judo competition, having earned multiple podium finishes, state titles, and international open titles throughout his career.
His style of judo is fast, aggressive, and top-heavy, built on sharp timing with ashiwaza and powerful throws such as osoto-gari and uchimata. He is also known for his strategic approach on the ground, often hunting for strangles with patience and precision.
Now semi-retired from competition, Sean is dedicated to giving back to the next generation. He currently trains and coaches kids, cadets, and adults at the SA Combat Academy, where he aims to pass on his competition-tested style, experience, and passion for judo to everyone who steps onto the mats. -
Ben Allen
Ben is our Judo coach and is teaching Judo every Tuesday night. He is a brown belt with passion and heart - plus over 15 years of experience in Judo - who strives to teach the valuable skill of self defence. Ben has developed a level of personal discipline and composure that shows the value and importance of judo in day to day life, both physically and mentally.

Michael Hucks
Trainer Michael Hucks began his Kun Khmer journey at age 17 under the guidance of Master Sarun Chea. After gaining valuable experience as a competitive fighter, he discovered that his true passion lies in coaching.
Kun Khmer, a traditional martial art and combat sport from Cambodia, incorporates a dynamic blend of punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and stand-up grappling techniques. Michael brings this rich skill set to his students, focusing on authentic technique, discipline, and the development of strong, confident fighters.
